El Ganso you have revived us

Last night we were so tired, crammed in like sardines. Our roomies were all lovely except perhaps Hubert, Germany's most mediocre export.

Today we set off under beautiful cloudy skies with out rain - perfect for walking. We climbed quite steadily through beautiful rolling hills with wind turbines flashing in the sun in the distance.
A beautiful flower is blooming in a fragrant bush everywhere. The hills are covered and the path is lined.
We stopped at Santa Catalina de Samoza for a Coca cola zero and to say goodbye to Jill's friend Teresa who is hiking on ahead. Joining us at this stop was a tall beautiful pair of Swedish women that we have dubbed Hilda and Helga. They are fit, tan and have no wobbly bits. We watch them stride quickly ahead and worship at their feet.   They have passed us every day but some how we have ended up at the same albergue every night. Hilda and Helga aren't the only ones who pass us, old men with osteoporosis and one leg are faster- but we press on.

But today we hit the jackpot in El Ganso. After a ten mile stretch we found heaven- A private room with no Hubert's attached. Cheap and available. We probably don't deserve this bit of
Heaven but we are pretending we do. Jill's feet are a hot mess. To quote John Candy "these dogs are barkin"

I am so glad you are sharing your experience with the sisters back home. I would love to walk the Camino someday. Watching intently and praying for you. Sandy Brown
